Carrying Coronavirus fear much too far
A policeman stopped and fined a motorist for driving his car without wearing a mask, even though the glasses of the automobile were rolled up and there were no other passengers in the car. This is typical behaviour of people who implement guidelines without understanding the intent or application of mind. Actually, that is not entirely true, they are indeed thinking, but about the wrong things. Rather than focussing on doing a good job, of assisting, they are thinking more a

Covid-19 is not the kiss of death.
"Nothing in life is to be feared, it is only to be understood. Now is the time to understand more, so that we may fear less." ~ Madame Curie Usually the most ignorant, are the most fearful. COVID-19 has scared the living daylights out of most people. Yet everyone is a self appointed expert on the subject, making rules that hamper rather than help. About a month ago, our younger son Pavit complained of a persistent runny nose and sore throat. So Pavit got himself tested only

Why must they, Rest in Peace?
We often just imbibe aspects, of the dominant culture, its values, language and beliefs without even realising it. When we delve deeper, we can be fascinated by what we learn about different cultures, languages, philosophies, religions etc. A recurring doubt, why when offering condolences on the loss of someone do they say 'May his soul Rest in Peace' ? Raised as a Sikh (the Guru's disciple in search of truth) the concept of 'Rest in Peace' (RIP) from the Latin 'Requiescat

To nurture a garden, is to believe in tomorrow.
It takes just as much labour and time to do something badly, as it is to do it well. So I always give everything I do, the best I can.
The advantage is, if my commitment bears fruit, I am delighted. When my efforts do not deliver the results expected, I am neither angered nor saddened.
I have discovered that, when one does something, in fact ,anything with devotion, one is happy.
The doing is now, the fruit may come later.
When one can evolve and be happy now, why postpone

Who are you?
During his reign as Emperor of China, Emperor Wu of Liang (502–549 C.E.) embraced and promoted the golden age of Chinese Buddhism. He came to be seen as the Chinese counterpart of the Indian Buddhist Emperor Ashoka the Great. Bodhidharma, the first Zen patriarch of China, came to visit Emperor Wu around 520 AD. The emperor told Bodhidharma, " I have built numerous temples and given financial support to the monastic community. Please tell me how much merit will I get for these

The Cold Within
The Cold Within. The poem "The Cold Within", is about six people who, by coincidence, are stuck in the cold with a burning fire whose flame is about to burn out unless one of the six people does not put his piece of wood into the fire. All the people in the poem have differing backgrounds and nature, making it hard for any person to put his stick into the fire because of the prejudices each held. The Cold Within Six humans trapped by happenstance In dark and bitter cold As th
